This week I spoke to Stephanie Valdivia, a second year at CSULB. Her major is Criminal Justice and she is thinking of possibly being a probation officer. She currently works at Papa Johns as a delivery driver. Her coworkers aren’t that great as her zine, “to the jack asses at work” reveals. As for the question of the week, we decided to discuss question #2, would you be supportive of your child wanting to pursue an art career? Why or why not? We thought this was a great question to discuss because there have been various CSULB artists that say their parents didn’t want them to pursue a degree in the field of art. Stephanie said she would definately support her child if they wanted to do something in the art field. She wouldn’t stop her child from doing what they love, instead she would provide them with the resources needed to reach their artistic abilities. She thinks that pursing an art career can be risky, but she much rather see her child happy doing what they love than to have them be depressed at a job they hate.
